For those of you following the proposal by L.A. Unified in California to cut all adult education funding, here’s an update:
On February 14, L.A. Unified issued a stay of execution for the district’s adult education programs. The board voted to postpone its decision on the 2012-13 budget until its next meeting March 8.
Stay tuned for more details and updates on this, especially as we get closer to March 8. And thanks for all your efforts in urging the board of education to reconsider their proposal to cut this important funding!
Please do not cut the Adult Ed programs. They are vital for those who need GED, and those who need new skills if they have lost their jobs, or need ESL.
These are people who want to be productive and help themselves if only they are given a chance.. Please help them to succeed. This is a motivated group of citizens.
